A mind that is renewed is the recipe for living right. It is a mind that is subjected to constant change through constant submission to the Word of God.
It simply follows that we cannot exhibit the realities of God and come into his perfect will with an imperfect heart.
The tool the devil uses in cutting us to size is the information he can get into our minds which will prompt us to conform to his patterns.
Funnily enough, transformation also comes from information but this time, it is the illumination of the Word of God in our hearts and minds that pushes us towards God's will.
Paul admonished in verse 1 that we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God. Holiness comes from submission to the ways of God which can also be extrapolated from the Word of God.
James 4:7 encapsulates it best: "Submit yourself therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee."
No submission, no dominion.
No information, no illumination
And no illumination, no transformation.
Renewing our minds is our responsibility.
